Concord's Ambitious PlayStation Dream Falls Short
Colin Moriarty recently sat down with a former developer of the game Concord, which was once touted as the future of PlayStation. The game's development reportedly cost over $400 million and was seen internally as a game with ambitions as grand as "Sony's version of Star Wars." Despite this, it only achieved sales of about 25,000 copies. By the time it reached the alpha stage, $200 million had already been spent. The grand vision didn't translate into commercial success, leaving many to wonder what went wrong with this potential blockbuster.
